Scarab caves are found in the city of Ankrahmun, the desert city of Tibia. Ankrahmun is a premium city and is located south of Darashia. You can travel directly to Ankrahmun by boat or by carpet to Darashia and walk south through the mountain passage.
In order to access the Tibia scarab caves you must dig either a hole or a lose stone pile. Each hole contains two floors of scarabs. The first floor is easy and contains less scarabs to fight. The second floor is hard, contains a lot more Scarabs and can be dangerous. It is recommended that only high levels hunt at the second floor unless you are in a group. The average experience gained when hunting a scarab cave for one hour is between 25k - 35k experience points - depending on which cave you hunt, amount of players on your server and how quickly you kill each scarab.
There are five holes leading to scarab caves on the tibia lands and all are located in the Ankrahmun desert. We have named each cave by it's location on the desert. The following are the five caves:
Due to it's secret location, not so many tibia players know about this hidden scarab cave. In order to access it you must use your shovel to dig a square of sand several times. Persistence is the key here as often the hole won't appear until you have dug many times - some players have dug up to 30 times before it has opened. The great thing about this cave is that it isn't so busy - if you are a player that enjoys peace whilst hunting this is the one.
The problem in finding this cave is that the square of sand you must dig is identical to the rest of the desert! Not to worry though as the image to the left shows you exactly where to dig. This hole has four floors. The first is a floor of Larva's, the second is a floor of Scarabs, the third is another floor of Scarabs and the fourth is a floor of Ancient Scarabs.
The average experience per hour for the first floor of scarabs is 25k. The average experience gained per hour for the second floor of Scarabs is 30k.
This Scarab cave can be found north east of the desert. It is north of the tar found middle east. The easiest way to find this cave is by leaving Ankrahmun city using the east gate exit and walking north. The hole to dig is a lose stone pile. However when searching for the stone pile to dig - don't be fooled by stone piles that you can't dig as the desert is full of them.
The arrow on the image to the left points to the exact spot of the north east Ankrahmun desert that you should dig. This cave contains four floors - the first is a floor of Larva's, the second is a floor of Scarabs, the third is a floor of Scarabs and the fourth is a floor of Ancient Scarabs.
The first floor of Scarabs yields approximately 23k per hour. The second floor of Scarabs yields approximately 27k per hour.
The central Scarab is one of the most common and most visited caves by players. This is mostly down to it's location because it is located directly north of the North gate of Ankrahmun city. There is a stone pile that you must dig with your shovel to gain entrance to these caves.
This is a great cave if you want to make your first attempt of fighting Scarabs as the respawn isn't usually full due to players coming and going - killing the Scarabs. If it is your first time hunting Scarabs then this cave is highly recommended. You will more than likely bump into an experienced player fighting Scarabs who can show you the best ways to kill Scarabs and also help you if in danger.
The first floor (easy) of Scarabs gives an average of 20k experience points per hour. The second floor (hard) gives an average of 25k experience points per hour.
The easiest way to find the south west Scarab cave is by exiting Ankrahmun city using the West gate. Once standing at the west gate of Ankrahmun the hole is located north west. Be careful not to walk too far west as it is more north than west from the gate. The hole is almost in level with the west side of the Ankrahmun wall. The map on the left shows an arrow pointing to the stone hole that you must dig in order to get to the Scarab caves.
The Scarab caves in this hole are often free, despite being so close to the city. It is thought that these caves are tricky to hunt with so many coves and corners with Scarabs hiding inside. There are 4 floors, the first with Larva's, second with Scarabs (easy), third with Scarabs (hard) and fourth with Ancient Scarabs.
The south east scarab cave is located on the east of Ankrahmun desert. The easiest way to locate the hole is by exiting Ankrahmun city by using the East gate. Once you have left the east gate walk directly north until you see stone piles. The entrance to the caves is a lose stone pile - you must use your shovel to dig the stones in order to gain entrance.
The first floor of Scarabs in this cave is thought to be the slowest and easiest of all Scarab caves. This cave is often free and is a good place to start hunting Scarabs if you are a lower level for any vocation. The first floor in this cave has Larva's, the second floor has Scarabs (easy), The third floor has Scarabs (hard).
The average experience per hour made on the first floor (easy) is 18k. The average experience per hour made on the second floor is 25k.
